Gresham's Law in Content Ecosystems
On open social platforms, low-cost aggregated or repurposed content spreads efficiently and gradually squeezes out incentives for original creation, degrading overall platform quality. Recycling existing content has near-zero marginal cost, while original content requires time and creative investment. Under pure algorithmic optimization, inferior content paradoxically receives greater exposure.
