Platform Disintermediation Boundary
Platform enterprises derive core value from connecting supply and demand. However, at maturity they face a critical inflection point: remain a connector versus become a supplier themselves. Crossing this boundary causes platforms to forfeit neutrality and compete with their own participants. Staying within it leaves them vulnerable to being eroded by more comprehensive competitors.
