Supply Chain Sovereignty
When critical production inputs (energy, semiconductors, memory chips, etc.) are controlled by a small number of countries or companies, constraining a nation's or firm's strategic autonomy, the dependent party is forced to invest in building local alternative capacity. Even at higher unit costs, they accept a premium for controllability. This represents a direct collision between geopolitical interests and economic efficiency.
