In volatile, capital-intensive commodity industries, long-term fixed supply agreements function beyond price-locking mechanisms—they are options that grant both parties operational predictability and support for capital investment decisions. Buyers gain confidence to invest in downstream capacity based on assured supply; sellers gain confidence to maintain upstream production based on assured demand.
