Pendulum Effect
A political pattern where prolonged extreme policies or ideologies trigger a corrective backlash. When voters perceive a government has moved too far in one direction, they tend to shift power to the opposing side in search of balance. This swing is typically driven by intuitive fatigue with overextended commitments rather than rational policy evaluation.
