The Scalability Limit of Standardization vs. Subjective Judgment
When system decisions rely on human subjective judgment, scaling creates standard drift, exponential cost growth, and quality inconsistency. Standardization aims not to eliminate human judgment entirely, but to liberate humans from low-level decisions and concentrate their effort on decisions that cannot be standardized.
