Cost-Push Pricing
When production input costs rise or supply becomes constrained, companies cannot absorb the cost increase through efficiency gains and are forced to pass the price rise downstream to customers. This passive price increase differs from demand-pull pricing—the former reflects market inelasticity, while the latter reflects competitive advantage.
