Unrealized Wealth Illusion
A condition where personal net worth is heavily concentrated in a single company's stock valuation rather than cash flows or liquid assets. When stock prices rise, paper wealth surges dramatically, yet actual purchasing power and liquidity may not grow proportionally; conversely, a stock price decline can instantly evaporate paper gains. This 'paper wealth' easily masks genuine economic risk and underlying leverage fragility.
