In mature or highly competitive markets, new entrants avoid competing head-to-head with incumbents on the same dimension. Instead, they establish a new value proposition through concrete, quantifiable, and hard-to-replicate technical or process features. Consumers are willing to pay a premium for this difference, or accept trade-offs in other areas at the same price point.
