Information Asymmetry in Viral Spread
By the time truth gets its boots on, lies have already circled the globe. False information spreads faster than corrections because the human brain naturally prioritizes encoding novel and emotionally charged content, while quickly forgetting dry factual corrections. This creates a platform-level information ecology problem: reactive corrections can never catch up to proactive rumors.
