The Transfer Boundary of Capability

In complex systems, a breakthrough in one capability (such as language prediction) does not automatically transfer to domains with fundamentally different structures (such as physical interaction). True progress requires deep understanding of the essential constraints in the new domain, rather than simply applying methods that succeeded in the old domain.
