Reverse Crowded Trade
When market participants establish excessive consensus positions in one direction, subsequent returns stem from: (1) short squeezes during extreme sentiment reversals, or (2) repricing as neglected fundamentals show marginal improvement. Reverse crowded trade identifies assets that have been excessively shorted while fundamentals begin to recover, profiting as long positions are re-established.
