Commoditization Through Platformization
When a technology that once provided competitive differentiation becomes platformized—delivered through third-party SDKs or models—the competitive battleground shifts from 'having vs. not having' to 'integrating more effectively.' This inevitably leads to: (1) the feature itself ceasing to be a competitive advantage; (2) companies forced to compete on the same functionality through customization, cost reduction, or user experience optimization; (3) value migration to the platform layer or experience layer.
