Tactile Dimension of Human-Machine Interaction
In human-machine relationship design, the physical sense of security conveyed through tactile contact (embracing, stroking) and the psychological sense of security conveyed through verbal dialogue are complementary rather than interchangeable dimensions. Many emotional needs require satisfying both tactile and cognitive levels simultaneously; machines operating on a single dimension cannot fully address these needs.
