Generational Advantage Transfer
The social capital accumulated by previous generations—reputation, networks, and trust—diminishes in relevance as new domains and markets emerge. While inherited advantages provide initial help to the next generation, true value is ultimately determined by execution rather than family name. To surpass their predecessors, the next generation must establish credibility independently in new arenas where the previous generation holds no advantage.
