Founder Moral Commitment vs. Organizational Structure Tension
The tension that emerges when changes to organizational governance create conflict between a founder's original moral commitments and the realities of institutional design. This tension arises from three sources: (1) commitments typically exist at the verbal and belief level, (2) structural changes are implemented through legal and contractual mechanisms, and (3) the two operate on different timescales with unequal enforceability.
