Capability Window & Trust Debt
When a product remains in a state of inadequate performance over time, users develop negative expectations. Even substantial improvements require additional time and demonstrated success to 'repay' the accumulated trust debt. This repayment period is called the 'capability window'—during which users evaluate the product relative to their past impression rather than its absolute performance.
