Expectation Backfire Effect
When a product generates extraordinary pre-launch hype and anticipation, any shortcoming in the actual delivery gets magnified in judgment. Reputation isn't determined by absolute quality, but by the gap between reality and expectation—the wider this gap, the stronger the backlash.
